Event Information

“Continuously sweat in the service of others without feeling any tiredness. Serve everyone with everything you have, everywhere, every time. This is work. All else is labour.” - Swami Chinmayananda

Event Details

This event has two parts (see below). You may choose to do both or one; however, you will receive more points for your team the more you participate. We encourage you to participate as much as you can and log your activity through the first 3 weeks of May. The team that gets the most points is the winner of the event! Logging time/points is based on the honor system....we expect all Chinmaya Mission members to abide by it.

1. Participate in "May Moving Madness" - log your activity during the first 3 weeks of May (May 1 - May 20).

Choose any form of exercise or movement (biking, walking, dancing, yoga, etc.) and log your activity for yourself and your family. 10 minutes of this activity will count for 1 point for your team!

2. Participate in the virtual walk/run (anytime between May 21 - May 23).

Walk/run 3K on a trail or in your neighborhood on the third weekend of May and log your completion of the activity. This activity counts for 10 points for every member who completes the 3K!

Teams & Leaders

Team 1: Abhaya

Abhaya translates to "fearlessness," which helps us make righteous decisions despite any obstacles or uncertainities.  Fearlessness helps us focus on the goal, while keeping anxieties minimal.

Team Leader : Ramprasad

Team 2: Balam

Balam translates to "strength," both emotionally and physically, which provides us with confidence during periods of weakness. A person who is tough is able to rise to whatever challenges s/he faces.

Team Leader: Mala

Team 3: Buddhi

Buddhi is one's intellect which helps to discriminate between good and bad, and allows us to make the correct choices.  A wise person is cognizant of his duties and will always be on the right track.

Team Leader: Srikanth

Team 4: Dhriti

Dhriti, meaning “endurance” and “fortitude”, provides us with courage during times of uncertainty, helping us regulate our awareness.  It is our inner energy that gives us a purpose and allows us to understand goals.

Team Leader: Prabhakar
